BREAKING: Embattled Rep. George Santos Expelled From Congress

Rep. George Santos (R-NY) has overwhelmingly been voted to be expelled from the House of Representatives . The embattled freshman representative was facing a barrage of allegations of fraudulent behavior, including defrauding donors of his campaign by allegedly making personal purchases with campaign funds, in addition to a flurry of other accusations.

Freshman Rep. Goerge Santos was removed from the House on December 1

Santos has faced multiple expulsion efforts before, including earlier this month, but those attempts failed on the House floor. The latest push came after a damming report from the House Ethics Committee alleged Santos has made all sorts of purchases with campaign money, and allegedly paying off his debts.

Santos joins a handful of members of congress who have been expelled from the House. The last time a member of Congress was ejected from the chamber without being convicted of a felony was during the civil-war era.
