Speaker Kevin McCarthy has formally invited President Biden to deliver his annual State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, February 7.

In a letter to President Biden, McCarthy wrote “It is my solemn obligation to invite you to speak before a Joint Session of Congress on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, so that you may fulfill you duty under the Constitution to report on the state of the union,”
This year’s State of the Union address will be Biden’s first to a divided Congress, with Republicans controlling the House of Representatives and Democrats maintaining their control of the Senate.
