Former Chancellor Rishi Sunak will become the next Prime Minister of the U.K. following a quick leadership contest. The switch in Prime Ministers came after current PM Liz Truss was pressured to resign on Friday due to her tumultuous Economic plan.

Candidates needed to earn 100 nominations from fellow MPs to qualify to be on the ballot to be conservative party leader. The path cleared for Sunak after former PM Boris Johnson announced he wouldn’t run for the top job and his top rival, House of Commons leader Penny Mordaunt dropped out of the race. Sunak will become the first Prime Minister of color in U.K. history.
